Achieving the ultimate glow seems to be a staple in most beauty regimes nowadays – and I’ll admit I’m not adverse to adding to my forever growing highlighter collection!
Beauty influencer SophDoesNails and affordable/fast beauty Kings Makeup Revolution collaborated to release a collection of eyeshadows and highlighters and I’ll say I was very impressed. The highlighter itself is a palette that comes with 8 baked and pressed highlighting powders, which Soph states are catered for most skin tones. The packaging is great as it’s a mostly clear window so you can see the highlighters when the packaging is closed. It is also cream coloured, which allows it to stand out against most of the other Makeup Revolution products, which often tend to be black.
The palette has four shades which she designed for light to fair skin tones, whilst the other four in the palette are tailored towards tan/medium and deep skin tones. If you’re one for a striking glow then these highlighters definitely will not disappoint. The baked highlighter formulas are definitely more subtle, but can be built to a more intense glow.
Overall I enjoy using this palette, however I’ll say that if you have a darker skin tone like myself, you’ll find that a lot of the shades end up looking very similar and unfortunately their similarity lies in the icy tone they give (which isn’t very flattering on darker skin). However, with a fairer skin tone you’ll see the differences between each shade and the intentions behind each one. As a collective we’ve given you some comparison swatches so you can see how the colours work on a darker skin tone and a lighter skin tone.
This is a great palette and would definitely work as a lovely gift to yourself or others! Also it’s a bargain at only £8 and can be found on the Tam Beauty website here or in-store or online at Superdrug’s here.
